Ingredients
For the crescent rolls:
- 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough (refrigerated)
For the cheesecake filling:
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg yolk (optional, for added richness)
For the topping (optional):
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- Fruit preserves or fresh berries (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray. This will ensure your crescent rolls don’t stick during baking and come out nice and golden.
In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed until smooth. Add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract, and continue mixing until everything is fully combined and creamy. If you want a richer filling, you can add an egg yolk to the mixture, which will give it a more custard-like texture. Mix until the filling is smooth and fluffy.
Open the can of crescent dough and unroll it onto a clean surface. You’ll see that the dough is already separated into triangular pieces. Carefully separate each triangle without tearing the dough.
Spoon a generous amount of the cheesecake filling onto the wider end of each crescent triangle. Don’t overfill—about 1 to 1.5 tablespoons should be enough for each roll. Be careful not to let the filling spill over the edges, as it may ooze out during baking.
Starting at the wider end of each crescent triangle, carefully roll the dough up around the cheesecake filling, pressing slightly as you go to seal the edges. Tuck the ends slightly to form a crescent shape, ensuring that the filling is fully enclosed.
Place the rolls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out evenly. Bake them in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside. The filling should be slightly set but still creamy.
Once the rolls are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. If desired, dust them with powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness. You can also serve them with a dollop of fruit preserves or a handful of fresh berries on top for added flavor and visual appeal.
Serve the Cheesecake Crescent Rolls warm, and enjoy the creamy, tangy filling paired with the buttery, flaky pastry. These rolls are perfect for a sweet breakfast, brunch, or dessert. Share with family and friends, or keep them all to yourself—no judgment here!
