Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
- Season the Chicken – Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel. In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Rub this seasoning mix evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
- Cook the Chicken – Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Rest the Chicken – Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest on a plate, tented with foil, for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, making the chicken more tender and flavorful.
Step 2: Cook the Noodles
- Boil the Pasta – Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to the package instructions (usually about 7-9 minutes) until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Butter Sauce – In the same skillet used for the chicken, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Coat the Noodles – Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter sauce. Season with salt, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese (if using). Stir well to coat evenly.
Step 3: Assemble the Dish
- Slice the rested chicken into thin strips or bite-sized pieces.
- Serve the buttered noodles on a plate and top with the sliced chicken.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and a sprinkle of lemon zest for extra flavor.
