  • Author: Olivia
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 2 Big Macs 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Big Mac Sauce:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons French dressing
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika

For the Burger Patties:

  • ½ pound ground beef (80/20 for juicy patties)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

For the Big Mac Assembly:

  • 2 sesame seed burger buns (you need an extra bottom bun for each burger)
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • ¼ cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 2 tablespoons diced white onion
  • 46 dill pickle slices
  • Butter (for toasting the buns)

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Big Mac Sauce

  1. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, French dressing, sweet pickle relish, white vinegar, sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika.

  2. Stir until smooth and well blended.

  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors develop.

Step 2: Shape and Cook the Burger Patties

  1. Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and shape them into thin, round patties, about 4 inches wide.

  2. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  3. Heat a cast-iron skillet or nonstick pan over medium-high heat. Cook each patty for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.

Step 3: Toast the Buns

  1. Split each sesame seed bun and set aside an extra bottom bun for each burger (to create the signature three-layer structure).

  2. Lightly butter the inside of the buns and toast them on a skillet or griddle until golden brown.

Step 4: Assemble the Big Mac

  1. Spread Big Mac sauce on the bottom bun and middle bun.

  2. Add shredded lettuce to both layers.

  3. Place one slice of American cheese on the bottom bun.

  4. Add a beef patty on top of the cheese.

  5. On the middle bun, place a few pickle slices and diced onions, then top with another beef patty.

  6. Finish with the top bun and press lightly to hold everything together.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy!

Serve immediately with crispy fries and a cold drink for the ultimate McDonald’s experience at home.
