  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 68 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

  1. Season the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.
  2. Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil and 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove the chicken and set aside on a plate.

Step 2: Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce

  1. Sauté the Garlic: In the same skillet, melt 4 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until fragrant but not browned.
  2. Deglaze the Pan: Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet to add flavor.
  3. Add the Cream: Stir in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  4. Incorporate Parmesan and Seasonings: Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper, stirring to combine.

Step 3: Combine and Simmer

  1. Return Chicken to the Skillet: Place the seared chicken breasts back into the skillet, spooning the sauce over them.
  2. Simmer: Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 7-10 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).

Step 4: Garnish and Serve

  1. Finish with Parsley: Sprinkle fresh parsley over the chicken and sauce for a burst of color and flavor.
