  • Total Time: 20–30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 parfaits 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the creamy layer:

  • 1 ½ cups plain or flavored yogurt (Greek, vanilla, or coconut)
  • OR 1 ½ cups whipped cream or dairy-free whipped topping
  • 12 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (if using plain yogurt)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

For the fruit layer:

  • 1 cup mixed fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • OR 1 cup diced mango, kiwi, peaches, or grapes
  • OR ½ cup fruit compote or jam
  • Optional: a squeeze of lemon or orange juice for freshness

For the crunchy layer:

  • 1 cup granola or crushed biscuits (graham crackers, digestive cookies, or shortbread)
  • OR crushed nuts like almonds, pecans, or walnuts
  • OR toasted oats or seed mix for extra crunch

Optional garnishes:

  • Mint leaves
  • Chocolate shavings or chips
  • A dusting of cinnamon or cocoa powder
  • Chopped dried fruit
  • Coconut flakes

Instructions

1. Prepare the creamy base

  • In a bowl, mix yogurt with honey and vanilla extract if using.
  • If using whipped cream, whip until soft peaks form and gently fold in sweetener or flavoring as desired.
  • Keep chilled until ready to assemble.

2. Prepare the fruit

  • Wash and dry fresh fruits thoroughly.
  • Slice larger fruits like strawberries or mango into bite-sized pieces.
  • If using compote or jam, warm slightly or mix with fresh fruit for a smoother texture.

3. Prepare the crunch layer

  • Crush cookies or biscuits using a rolling pin or pulse briefly in a food processor.
  • If using granola or nuts, toast briefly in a dry pan for enhanced flavor (optional).

4. Choose your serving glass

  • Select dessert glasses, jars, or bowls—clear vessels showcase the beautiful layers.
  • Use wide-mouthed glasses for easier layering and eating.

5. Layer the parfait

  • Start with a spoonful of crunch at the bottom for structure.
  • Add a layer of creamy yogurt or whipped topping.
  • Follow with a layer of fruit or compote.
  • Repeat the layers until the glass is full, finishing with fruit or cream on top.

6. Add finishing touches

  • Garnish with chocolate chips, mint leaves, a drizzle of honey, or coconut flakes.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 hours before serving.
  • Prep Time: 20 minutes
  • Cook Time: None (unless preparing a fruit compote or homemade layers)
