Ingredients
– 4 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old)
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 2 large eggs, beaten
– 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
– 4 green onions, chopped
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 3-4 tablespoons soy sauce (to taste)
– 1 tablespoon sesame oil
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– Optional protein (shrimp, chicken, or beef, cooked and diced)
Instructions
Follow these simple steps to create your own Hibachi Fried Rice at home:
1. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
2. Cook the Eggs: Add the beaten eggs to the pan. Scramble them until fully cooked and then remove from the pan. Set aside.
3. Sauté Garlic and Veggies: In the same pan, add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, add the mixed vegetables and sauté for 3-5 minutes until they are tender.
4. Add Rice: Introduce the cooked rice to the pan. Use a spatula to break up any clumps. Stir-fry for around 5 minutes until heated through.
5. Season: Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil. Stir to coat the rice evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
6. Combine: Add the cooked eggs back into the pan, along with the chopped green onions. Stir until everything is well combined and heated through.
7. Optional Proteins: If using any pre-cooked protein, add it at this time and heat through.
8. Serve Immediately: Remove the pan from the heat and transfer the fried rice to plates, garnishing with additional green onions if desired.
