Stained Glass Jello: An Incredible Ultimate Recipe for Special Occasions

  • Author: Olivia
  • Total Time: 4 hours 15 minutes

Ingredients

– 3 different flavors of gelatin (for example: red, green, and blue)
– 4 cups boiling water (divided)
– 2 cups cold water (divided)
– 1 package unflavored gelatin (2 ½ teaspoons)
– 1 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
– ½ cup sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Creating Stained Glass Jello is simple and fun! Just follow these steps:

1. Prepare the Flavored Gelatin: In three separate bowls, dissolve each flavored gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir well until completely dissolved.
2. Add Cold Water: To each bowl, add ½ cup of cold water. Mix well and allow to cool slightly.
3. Refrigerate: Pour the flavored gelatin into individual containers or shallow pans. Place in the refrigerator and allow to set completely (about 4 hours or overnight).
4. Cut into Cubes: Once the gelatin is set, remove from the refrigerator. Cut each flavored gelatin into small cubes.
5. Prepare Unflavored Gelatin Mixture: In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of boiling water with the unflavored gelatin and stir until dissolved.
6. Mix in the Sour Cream: In another bowl, whisk together the sour cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually add the dissolved unflavored gelatin mixture, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
7. Combine Mixtures: Fold the gelatin cubes into the sour cream mixture. Gently stir to distribute the colors evenly.
8. Pour into Mold: Pour the combined mixture into a greased or lined bundt or loaf pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
9. Chill Again: Return to the refrigerator and let set for at least 2 hours or until firm.
10. Unmold and Serve: Once fully set, carefully loosen the edges of the Jello from the pan. Invert onto a serving platter. Slice into pieces to serve.
