Ingredients
– 4 salmon fillets
– 1/3 cup sweet chilli sauce
– 2 tablespoons soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon lime juice
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh cilantro or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Creating Sweet Chilli Salmon is straightforward if you follow these simple steps:
1. Prepare Marinade: In a bowl, mix the sweet chilli sauce, soy sauce, lime juice, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
2. Marinate Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Let it sit for at least 10 minutes.
3. Preheat Oven or Grill: If you’re using an oven, preheat it to 400°F (200°C). If grilling, preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
4. Cook Salmon: For the oven, place the marinated salmon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. For grilling, place the salmon directly on the grill rack and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side.
5. Baste with Marinade: Midway through cooking, brush additional marinade over the salmon for extra flavor.
6. Test for Doneness: Ensure the salmon is fully cooked by checking if it flakes easily. An internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) is ideal.
7. Garnish: Once cooked, remove the salmon from heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh cilantro or chopped green onions for a burst of color and flavor.
