Strawberry Shortcake: An Incredible Ultimate Recipe for Everyone

  • Author: Olivia
  • Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 1 tablespoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1 cup whole milk
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for strawberries)
– 1 cup heavy whipping cream
– 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for whipped cream)
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for whipped cream)

Instructions

Creating the perfect Strawberry Shortcake is a straightforward process if you follow these steps:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth. Gradually add the milk and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
4. Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
5. Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
6. Cool the Cake: Once baked, remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
7. Prepare the Strawberries: While the cake cools, mix the sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup of sugar in a bowl. Let them sit for about 15 minutes to release their juices.
8. Make the Whipped Cream: In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
9. Assemble the Cake: Once the cake is cooled, slice it in half horizontally. Place one layer on a serving platter, add half of the strawberries and their juices, then spread half of the whipped cream on top.
10. Top with the Second Layer: Place the second half of the cake on top. Add the remaining strawberries and whipped cream on top for a beautiful finish.
